Summer 2025 Check-Out Information

Students should plan on completing the self-checkout process for the summer semester on by the specific date emailed to them in early August. Students with approved Fall housing will be provided information on what day to transition to their Fall room, while students not returning for Fall will be provided information on how to move off campus on a specific day as well. Students will receive an email to their UMass Lowell accounts from the Office of Residence Life with details about the check-out procedure. This includes a different set of instructions depending on the next steps so it is important to understand which steps apply to you.

Students leaving on-campus housing and not staying for Fall:

  1. Students should take/remove all personal belongings from their room/suite/apartment.
  2. Students should clean their current room.
  3. Students should return any keys issued to their residence hall staff office.
  4. Students should complete a self check-out on the Online Housing Portal.
  5. Students will not have access to their room after completing the self-checkout

Students staying for Fall:

  1. Students need to have applied and been assigned a room for Fall 2025 on the Online Housing Portal (additional costs apply)
  2. Students will be emailed regarding moving dates and instructions, as needed, at the end of the summer semester.
