Master of Science in Finance

The Master of Science in Finance is a 30-credit program including five required finance courses, a minimum of three finance elective courses, and a maximum of two non-finance elective courses.

1. Disciplinary Knowledge: Program graduates will be able to integrate financial concepts and techniques in both an academic and applied perspective.

4. Risk Management: Program graduates will be able to assess and manage risk in financial decision-making processes.

UMass Lowell undergraduate students with a 3.000 GPA or better have the opportunity to save time and money by earning a bachelor's and a master's degree in a little as five years. Students can continue from bachelor’s to master’s level studies within their own department. Or students can apply to a program in a different department to create a set of skills to meet emerging needs in the workplace and their own academic interests.

• Letters of Recommendation: Two (2) for master's, three (3) for doctoral applicants.
• Transcripts: You may apply with unofficial transcripts, but if accepted, official transcripts are required. 
• Test Scores: UMass Lowell’s school code is 3911. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is required for Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) applicants. It is accepted, but not required, for master's applicants.
