Join AFROTC

Prepare to succeed as an Air Force and Space Force officer. Forge strong bonds while overcoming challenges. To answer the call to serve, verify your eligibility and complete the AFROTC Application. A detachment cadre member will be in touch to discuss your journey!

  1. Verify Eligibility Requirements (CAO13 January 2025):
    • i. Must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college that hosts an AFROTC detachment or a university or junior college having a cross-town agreement with a host detachment.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or able to obtain naturalized citizenship prior to contracting & Field Training, typically between an applicant’s Sophomore and Junior year.
      • Applicants are responsible for obtaining their own citizenship.
    • Must be able to complete the program and commission within the following age requirements

      Most officer career fieldsBefore an applicant’s 42nd birthday
      Pilot, Combat Systems Officer, Air Battle ManagerMust commission and enter flight training before an applicant’s 33rd birthday
      Remotely Piloted Aircraft PilotBefore an applicant’s 40th birthday

    • Be in good physical condition and able to obtain a sports physical, clearing the applicant for unrestricted physical activity.
    • Possess a strong moral character. AFROTC, “Develops Air and Space Force leaders of character whom are expected to fight and win our nation’s wars!”

  3. A Detachment 345 teammate will review your application and reach out with further guidance and to coordinate a discussion about your AFROTC future. Please be ready to provide a range of days and times of availability to expedite contact.
