Jodi joined UMass Lowell in fall 2021 as the Director of Disability Services. As an Academic Services team, Jodi leads the Disability Services Office by putting student success and retention at the forefront, which includes assisting students with removing barriers to access to the university. Jodi has expanded the many ways this office supports students including enhancing communication and collaboration with faculty and staff, clarifying practices to determining and administering accommodations, reducing disability stigma and increasing campus-wide disability understanding and appreciation. Over the past few years, the office has expanded outreach to the campus community, created a Disability Advisory Committee with faculty, staff, and students, created a podcast, revitalized the annual Disability Awareness Week, and sending regular newsletters. Jodi’s work experience includes: the founding director of Accessibility Services at Merrimack College, disability specialist at Brandeis University, school counselor at the Learning Prep School, director of Residential Life and Student Services for the Threshold Program at Lesley University and a private practice therapist. Additionally, Jodi is a student in the UMass Lowell Leadership in Education Ph.D. program.
