Biosketch

Dai Kim is a passionate community leader and sustainability advocate with over a decade of experience spanning corporate philanthropy, global marketing, community engagement, and food sovereignty. Rooted in Lowell, Dai is committed to building partnerships and driving sustainable, community-centered solutions to address complex systemic challenges.

As the Director of Sustainability at UMass Lowell, Dai supports the university’s efforts to advance impactful sustainability initiatives. Collaborating with government agencies, industry leaders, and nonprofit organizations, they oversee grant writing and fund development, support faculty research and student experiential learning, and ensure compliance with reporting standards, positioning the university as a leader in innovation and environmental stewardship.

Previously, Dai served as Co-Executive Director at Mill City Grows, where they led strategic efforts to expand food access and strengthen community engagement with corporate partners. Earlier in their career, Dai gained valuable experience in corporate social responsibility, marketing, and social impact through their roles at Whole Foods Market and the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation.

An alum of the Community Fellows Program and a 2024 Distinguished Young Professional honoree by the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, Dai is passionate about advancing environmental sustainability, local food systems, and equitable development, guided by a lifelong commitment to building resilient and thriving communities.
