In addition to her appointment at UML, she recently started as the Pep Band Director at Bentley University in Waltham, MA. Kaitlin is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Brass Performance at Boston University and holds degrees from the University of Central Florida (MA, BA). Her primary teachers include Mike Roylance, Dr. Ben Vasko, Dr. Luis Fred, and Claude Kashnig.

Since 2019, Kaitlin has been active as a private instructor, marching arts technician, and leadership clinician. Her extensive background in the marching arts includes a six-year membership with the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps, where she aged out as drum major in 2018. She has served on the brass staff of the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps (2019-2023) and Music City Drum and Bugle Corps (2024), and she currently works with the euphonium section of The Bluecoats.

Kaitlin enjoys researching brass pedagogy and gender equity in brass performance. She has presented lectures at conferences including the 2024 Northwest Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference and SHE: Women in Music Festival. In 2024, she served as a research intern for the Boulanger Initiative, an organization dedicated to promoting music composed by women. She regularly performs works by female composers, including her transcriptions of new and historic lieder. Beyond her academic and performance pursuits, Kaitlin explores a variety of creative projects. She is a contributor to the ITEA Journal, where her column, The Graduate Diaries, offers advice and insights into the graduate music student experience. She also enjoys arranging music for tuba quartet and pep band.
