Definitions
The course delivery definitions are as follows:
- On-campus/In Person - course meets regularly on-campus.
- Hybrid courses are primarily on-campus courses augmented by some remote coursework via Blackboard or Canvas, UMass Lowell's online learning management tools. On-campus classes are typically held in a lab, studio or other hands-on learning facility. Class time may alternate between remote learning and campus-based instruction on a daily or weekly basis.
- Virtual Classroom - course meets online on scheduled days and times, each week in Blackboard. Virtual Classroom courses may include asynchronous course work (independent of course meeting) along with synchronous course meetings.
- Fully Online - course meets fully online throughout the semester without scheduled, synchronous class meetings in Blackboard (asynchronous).
- The term Remote encompasses both synchronous or asynchronous learning.
