Description
This course is focused on the application of theory-driven and research-based instructional practices for effective literacy instruction and assessment in the elementary classroom. Teacher candidates will apply their knowledge about the relationship between writing, reading, and oral language skills. Students will utilize research-based strategies and inclusive grade-level standards and curricula to plan effective literacy instruction for a diverse range of learners, including culturally and linguistically sustaining pedagogies. This course has a field work component. Students must be enrolled in EDUC.4110 to enroll in this course.
