The Moloney Scholar Program

Internships are a valuable way to gain experience as well as to clarify your career interests. If your career interests are in non-profits or in government agencies, you may be faced with an unpaid internship. UMass Lowell's recognition of this has led to the development of the Moloney Scholar program.

The Moloney Scholar Program offers up to $2,500 in financial support to full-time UMass Lowell students who secure an UNPAID internship in:

  • Qualified Non-profit organizations
  • Federal, state, or municipal government agencies
  • On-campus UMass Lowell departments with faculty members or staff (if not already funded through student employment)

Moloney financial support is provided via UMass Lowell's student employment payroll for UNPAID internships:

  • $16.75/hour, up to $2,500 (taxes will be deducted)
  • Paid bi-weekly
