Biosketch

Chris is a highly motivated student affairs professional with 15 years of experience in advising, retention, and first-year experience, focusing on delivering quality, holistic advisement that fosters student success and self-confidence. He uses appreciative advising to help students identify their strengths and enhance their campus experience.

Chris joined the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2015 as the first full-time professional advisor in the Francis College of Engineering. His work contributed to the creation of the College-Based Advising department in 2017. As the Assistant Director of Advising Services, Chris leads advising and retention efforts within the College of Engineering. He also played a key role in launching the Summer Bridge Program (2016-2019), advised the Developing Leaders in Engineering Living-Learning Community (2016-2019), served as Chapter Advisor for Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society (2021-2022) and teaches the Undeclared Engineering Seminar (ENGN.0010, 2024-present). Chris has presented on academic advising at NACADA conferences in 2016, 2017 and 2019.

Chris finds particular joy in working with first-year students, guiding them through their transition to university life. He takes pride in being an early support figure, helping students navigate challenges, find their communities on campus and build the foundation for a successful college experience.
